I am not able to share the milestones, tasklists with my clients. The clients after log in only get to see the project list on top but don't get to see anything in the dashboard or in the milestones and tasklists section.

This is because the milestones/tasklists flag would have been set as Internal instead of External. i.e Clients can view only the tasks & milestones that are set as External.

Set the milestone/tasklist flag as External, so that your project clients can view the milestones and tasks.

Its not possible for you to change the name of your site (portal) because the site name change can be done only from our end.

Send your existing portal URL and the newly required portal URL to support[at]zohoprojects[dot]com.

Are there plans to make zoho project work offline? I love it, but I cannot do any work or refer to any tasks when I am on the road without an internet connection.

We will analyze this feature and consider providing the same in future, if feasible.

My Tasks and Task Lists that do not have milestones associated with thim have gone missing.

Select "All" option from the "View Others Tasks" drop down available on the right side in tasks & milestone page and check whether all your tasks & task lists are displayed.

If the same problem persists, send your contact number & best possible time to support[at]zohoprojects[dot]com, so that I can contact you to look into the problem you face and resolve at once.

It must be possible to enter all data also when date and time already experied since very often information is entered after an event took place. For us it is a killer criteria.

German language version

Language character encoding: There are many German strings, mainly German special characters (Umlaute), especially in tool-tips that are displayed incorrectly.

Also all strings, label names, ... must be checked since they are also not correct sometimes.

As of now, it is possible to modify tasks, milestones but it is not possible to modify meetings that are expired in time.

Ability to modify meeting details in the expired time line will be analyzed and provided in future as per the priority.

When I delete a task within a milestone, does it remove all time, subtasks and documents associated with that task? If so, how can I close the task so that I retain that information?

On deleting a task, the time logged for that task will be removed from the time sheet but subtasks (i.e child task that is dependent on the task to be deleted) and documents associated with that task will not be deleted.

Can I download an entire folder or do I have to download the image files one at a time?

I am a new user. Wanting to use this with a client (free version). If it works well I will integrate it into my consulting business.


My issues: 1) I am unable to "select" a Client I have set-up. So to add a client user I had to set-up the client again. How do I delete duplicate Clients and why can't I choose a Client I have already set-up? 2) Once I have that all set-up, how do I allow the Client access to the site? 3) What do they have to do to participate? Will they be able to participate fully as a Client user or would I better served to set them up as a project user?

As of now, it is not possible to download the entire folder at a time. Instead you can download the image file one at a time.

To change the email address, Login to http://accounts.zoho.com --> click 'My Email IDs' --> click 'Edit' option to the right of the email address --> update the new email address.

Once done all the emails will be received only in your new email address.

I am trying Zoho for the first time & so I may not understand all the possibilities. However, one of the most powerful things in this type of app is the use of task dependencies. It seems I have to have got these worked out in advance and entered tasks not only in the right sequence but also with dates that make dependencies valid.


If I am right, this makes "dependencies" almost unusable. Surely I want to get tasks down as quickly as possible and then specify dependencies. If a "child" task has a start date that is before its newly specified "parent" then the child start date should automatically become the finish date of the "parent". Otherwise I have to use something like MS project to sort things out first and then enter in Zoho .. if so lets just use MSP


Also what happens if I want to add some new Milestone with new dependencies .. do I have to alter all previous stuff manually. Surely not .. it wd be a nightmare. Furthermore, if tasks overrrun, what happens to start dates of "child" tasks; they shd be re-scheduled.


What I would like to be able to do is to fill in task durations only and then the start date of the first task, set the dependencies and then all start & finish dates wd be calculated for me .. wouldn't they?


One further point re Dependencies, can Task Lists be parents & children as per tasks. This can be very useful indeed .. I realise one cd set the last task(chronologically) in a list to be the parent of the first task in another, dependent, list.

To respond to Barrys' comment, click "My Home" in Zoho projects. It should display all of the milestones assigned to your account.

Now I have a question, is there a way to back-up Zoho projects to a hard drive? I've already solved the problem with Zoho Creator, but the projects post much more of a problem.

Importing Microsoft Project is not possible in current version of Zoho Projects but will be available in the new version of Zoho Projects i.e Zoho Projects 2.0, which will be launched by this month end.

I'd love to be able to establish dependencies within a project template so that they were carried into the newly created project. Is that something that may be available soon? I think your product is great, but that one last feature within the project template would make it even better!

You can access both the portals (if you are added to the portals) but it's not possible to move tasks from one portal to another portal.

Just getting started evaluating Projects. In setting dependencies, it appears there are the following limitations vs. MS Project
1) dependent task must start on the day following the preceding task, not on the same day,
2) no ability to allow duration of dependent task to overlap part of duration of preceding task,
3) time increments are limited to 1 day, not hours within a day,

I have common situations where several people must report some info and final report is dependent on receipt of all. Actually doing the report happens concurrently with the other people generating their info. Once I have it all, I can finish the report in under an hour.

Can the current Zoho Project handle this and if not, will the 2.o release this month have some or all of these abilities?

Currently, company & user settings are stored in our central IAM server and the setting changes will reflect after 5 minutes time. This is because of the caching method used in our IAM server.

So, please update profile and check for the changes after 5 minutes of time.

The caching method is not used in Zoho Projects 2.0 (new version of Zoho Projects) and the setting changes will be reflected immediately.

Please can you help?

Resource Management is a large part of any Project, how is this best acheived...i.e as in MSProject you can see available time, over allocation etc.
