A milestone is the end of a stage that marks the completion of a work package or phase, typically marked by a high level event such as completion.
Creating a Milestone

1. Click on Tasks & Milestone
2. Click on New Milestone
3. Enter milestone name (step 4 in fig)
4. Select the Start and End date.
5. Select the Owner from dropdown
6. Select the type of milestone flag (Internal or External).
7. Click on Add Milestone.
Note:
Internal flag: Only Project Members can view the milestones.
External flag: Project Members as well as clients can view the milestones.

Upcoming Milestone
All the milestones to occur in future in a project are listed out under upcoming milestone, so that user can complete his tasks on time and plan for the next milestone accomplishment

Overdue Milestone
Milestones, which are scheduled but not accomplished are listed in this section

Completed Milestones
List of all the Milestones that have been accomplished in the recent past are displayed in this section. To mark a milestone as completed, you can select the check box on its left. This moves the particular Milestone into completed Milestone list. Once a milestone is complete it can be archived.

Archived Milestone
Once a milestone is complete it can be archived for permenanant or long-term preservation. A completed milestone can be archived by clicking on
in front of the milestone name as shown in the above figure.
