Calendar is essential in maintaining the schedule and plans of various tasks related to a Project.
The project calendar displays the calendar in its view, with options to select display of
- All Tasks
- All Milestones
- All Meetings
- All of the above
The Project calendar provides following functionalities:
It
shows all the tasks/milestones/meetings of various users in a
particular project.This allows the group members to know about the
various activities: tasks, milestones or meetings planned over a time
period and also a fair knowledge of each other's activities.Any
tasks/milestones/meetings can be added or modified from this view by
the users.
It shows the tasks/meetings/milestones assigned to Any User. This is necessary in cases where a task or milestone is already being created and yet to be assigned.
This
permits the users to view all the activities assigned under a specific
user's name by using the drop down list containing the user names.
This shows the bar view from start date to end date.On hover of each bar, milestone details will be shown.
Apart from the above provisions, there is another interesting feature in the project calendar. In the Calendar,on hover of
each date, you can see the icons TD,MS,ME icons being displayed. Any
new task Milestone or new Meeting can be created from the Calendar view.

can the calendar be customized? ie: designate non-working days, allow more text to be soon for task?

As of now, print option is not available in Zoho Projects. Instead you can make use of the browser's print option to print the calendar available in Zoho Projects.
if any user attends a meeting (1 hour), will it be shown in the timesheet of the billable/nonbillable hours?
if not, according to your experience, what do u suggest in order to measure and monitor the time spent in meeting?

Can clients see the full Calendar view?
Can I send my Zoho calendar to Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar? even iCal is fine... Synch is ideal.

No, clients cannot see full calendar view. Client users can view only the Project Dashboard, Tasks & Milestones, Documents and Forums.

Yes, you can sync your Zoho Projects calendar with Google Calendar with the help of gCal.
Login to your portal --> click 'My Work Calendar' --> scroll to the page bottom --> use the gCal link to sync your Zoho Projects Calendar with your Google Calendar.
If I upgrade to business version will I be able to have each project have their own calendar (with items specific to that project), and one calendar that shows all items for all the projects?

Yes, each project has its own calendar, where you can view all the activities related to that particular project.
It is also possible to view all the project activities in a single calendar namely "My Work Calendar".
How can I automate the syncing of ical with my work calendar?
i don't understand why there's no ability to add standard events in the calendar. Why is there only task, milestone, meetings?
It just doesn't make sense. team members need to know everyone's work/busy, vacation times, etc.
makes this platform very flawed.
