The configuration settings in Zoho Projects can be accessed by clicking on the 'Settings' link at the top-right. There are various tabs under 'Settings'. 

  • General Settings
  • Company Settings (tab shown only to Administrator)
  • People View (tab shown only to Administrator)
  • Client View (tab shown only to Administrator)
  • Templates (tab shown only to Administrator & Managers) 
General Settings

Under General Settings, users are allowed to do the following :
  • Change the skin (theme) of Zoho Projects
  • Change profile details
  • Change their password
  • Upload/change/delete their photo



Updating User details

You have the option to update the User details at any time. To use this option, you can go to the Settings > General Settings. You can edit the user details like name, change in address, update changes in phone numbers or update job title changes, if any, over a period of time. This feature brings in a lot of flexibility and convenience, particularly in projects where the duration is considerably long and the user details undergo frequent changes or updation.






Company Settings

Under Company Settings admin can do the following changes :
  • Edit company Name
  • Edit Company Timezone
  • Upload/change/delete company logo.


People View


Under People View, the users list will be displayed along with the Administrator. The privileges of the Administrator here are:
  • Add/Delete users
  • Change user roles
  • Add users to/remove from project(s).
Send Message : The Administrator can also send mail to selected members using the 'Send Message' button. The same option is also available under the 'Users' tab of each project, the variation here being only the users & clients of that particular project alone are available in the combo list. And in either case, you can choose to mail a set of users/clients from the list of names available.



Client View


Under Client View, the client companies and client users in each company accessing the project will be displayed along with the Admin user.The privileges of the Admin user are:
  • add/delete/modify Client Company
  • add/delete/modify Client User
  • add to/remove from project(s).



Templates

The latest addition to the features list is the inclusion of a separate 'Templates' tab under 'Settings'. Creating 'Task List Templates' makes it easy to use the same set of repetitive tasks in multiple projects without actually re-writing the items in the list again. This saves the effort of retyping repetitive tasks all over again in a new project. You can create Task List Templates and add multiple 'Task Templates' to each 'Task List Template'.

I have a new email address since I started using zoho. I am the Admin, but I cannot find where to change my email address.

Is there a way to do this?

To change the email address, login to http://accounts.zoho.com --> click "My Email Ids" on the left side menu --> Click "Edit" link to the right of email address and change the email address.

Dear ZOHO support,

I uploaded a picture in "company settings" and noticed that it is not best formated. Sadly the new picture (that replaced the first one) is only shown to the users that are logged in to the system. The start page with login screen always shows the very first picture. Sadly I don't find a possibility to change this.
Would be nice, if you have a look on this.

If uploaded logo is displayed within the application, then the logo will be shown in the login page.

Try uploading the logo once again and check whether the logo is properly reflected in the login page or not.

I need to update a user's 'Username'; i don't see anywhere to do that. I have even tried to delete the user and re-add one which didn't work either....any thoughts??

User name once selected cannot be changed. This is because user name is an unique string that is mapped across all the other Zoho Services.

Yes, it is possible to change the portal URL but the portal change can only be made from our side.

Send your existing and newly required portal URL to support[at]zohoprojects[dot]com, so that we can do the portal URL change, if available.

Note: No special characters allowed in the portal URL.

Great product - one question. As an admin to my projects, can I change other people's passwords or reset their current passwords? If not, how are password changes accomplished for individuals?

Thanks for your compliment !! No. It is not possible for administrator to change / reset other users password.Only the individual user can change/reset the password.

To change the password, login to your portal, click 'Settings' link on the top right corner of the window, click 'Password' option under General Settings, change the password.

To reset the password, follow the instruction available at https://zohosso.wiki.zoho.com/#ChangePassword.

I want change and add "roles", more than only customer, manager and employee. And adequarely changing the rights.

The roles like Contractor, Manager, Employee are predefined and it's not possible for you to change or add new roles in Zoho Projects.

Somehow changing information in the profile is not working properly. I tried it several times. but it kept jumping back to the old information. My colleague has also encountered this problem

Sorry about the issue you faced while changing the profile.

Currently, company & user settings are stored in our central IAM server and the setting changes will reflect after 5 minutes time. This is because of the caching method used in our IAM server.

So, please update your profile and check for the changes after 5 minutes of time.

The caching method is not used in Zoho Projects 2.0 (new version of Zoho Projects) and the setting changes will be reflected immediately.
